The cattery deals with the breeding of Burmese cats of Contemporary American type in Minsk. The cattery is aimed at healthy Burmese Contemporary American kittens’ delivery with clarified hair color: chocolate, blue and platinum.

My name is Anastasia Pushkar and I am the owner of a unique chocolate Contemporary American Burmese who came to me from America.

The acquaintance with the breed was occasional. I was showing my first Scottish Fold cat at one of the Minsk shows. When walking in the show hall, I saw a smart red cat sitting imposingly on the cage. He expressed his superiority over everything that happened around. I was not the only person who felt the interest towards the cat: a huge crowd was standing near the cage. People were taking pictures and video, chatting with the cat owner, but the animal himself would not notice anyone, he was plunged into his own thoughts and his important mission – he was presenting his breed! The Burmese breed! And this breed is known to be one of the rarest and elite cat breeds.

After my acquaintance with the breed I started looking for the information about it in the web (about a month), examined the photos, the opinions of satisfied owners and finally I understood that I want another cat of this very breed. Besides, I realized that my first cat was getting lonely without a cat audience. After I got acquainted with Burmese breeders and after I heard some stories about Burmese show career, I definitely decided that it’s my must to have a unique cat of show class. In nine months a received a call and was informed that in America a chocolate Burmese was growing up. I had to make up my mind. And financially as well. I asked advice from my relatives and decided that money comes and goes, but the chance to buy a cat might never come true. So, on August 1, my Ahava-BurmsTinkerBell came to Belarus after a long air trip. The cat together with another one was brought to Minsk by Karen Thomas, “PANTHAT” cattery. Karen is an experienced breeder (30years of experience), she is a vet-practitioner, a volunteer and a nice person in addition. She has chosen a spouse to my cat from her cattery and has given him a symbolic name – MIR BELARUSSKIY.

At first I had the feeling that this purring miracle that watched with its golden deep eyes was just a mirage. A welcomed Burmese of a high breed quality came from one of American catteries and now she lives in my house. Not everyone can boast about this. But some of my friends think that one can buy everything and they don’t share my delight. But it’s not true. The breeder who respects himself, a professional a certain breed, would never sell a cat for further breeding to someone without a cattery with high achievements and titles. My dream has come true thanks to the breeder Ann Levina. And I am very thankful for that. In Ann’s «SweetLife» cattery best Belarusian Burmese and Bombay cats are gathered. 

At home Naomi (I’ve decided to name her Naomi) is an equal member of the family. She became friends with the household including our first cat Umka (Scottish Fold). The home became lighter and cozier thanks to the infinite good nature, tenderness and sunlight endlessly shining from these unfathomable yellow eyes. This Burmese like the sun lights everything up. In the morning she mews instead of an alarm-clock and sends me to work having hypnotized with her eyes. In the evening she meets me at the very door and welcomes with her usual “mew!” and follows me wherever I go like a tail. You want to play - let’s go, you want to rest – let’s do it together: these are the principles of her life. The Burmese are cats-partners, they are friendly and tender. It never matters if you plant the flowers or cook – your Burmese will sit aside and wait until you give some time to her. It is very important for the cat to spend some time tête-a-tête with her owner as the only drawback of the breed is that they are afraid of loneliness. The full absence of a slightest aggression in the Burmese character is very important. The cat will never scratch you or your child. Somewhere in the cat’s genes the taboo to hurt humans is designed in.

Naomi’s show career began 2 months after she came to Belarus. Her first high mark she got at WCF show in Smolensk in Junior class. Then came CFA, TICA and WCF in Minsk, Kiev and even Kazan’. You become addicted to the high points of world judges and you want to go and win them again and again.

In “Felita” WCF club Ahava-burms TinkerBell and Panthat Mir Belarusskiy have become the first and so far (!) the only animals who won CFA Champion title. But it is the beginning! Our show schedule is usually filled 2-3 months ahead. And every show helps people to learn more about such a wonderful breed as Burmese.
