moreBreed-program:
Bombay
With Bombay the situation is quite different.
Till now all American organizations allow the breeding of Bombays with American Shorthair and Burmese. But only with Sable Burmese. In the result of the breeding of Bombay (homozygous) and Sable Burmese in the first generation we got only black kittens, i.e. Bombays. But these kittens will have in recession the gene of Burmese colour, which is coded as Cb. By next breeding of Bombay, having Cb gene, with Sable Burmese or between themselves, there will be kittens with Burmese colour except Bombays.
Depending on the ancestors of Sable Burmese, Burmese kittens can have not only sable colour. The results of described breedings are registered by American felinological organizations in the following way:

CFA: all black kittens are registered as black Bombays with the next registration numbers – 0410 (male cats) and 0411 (female cats).
These Bombays can participate in exhibitions and get champion status.
The sable kittens are registered as Bombays of unrecognized colour with AOV registration code. They can participate in exhibitions, but without getting titles. They can also take part in the further pedigree program of Bombays.
To register a cat as Bombay, a breeder should present a pedigree (5 generations), in which the following breeds can be:
Bombay (0410-0411),
Burmese (1400 (0400)-1401(0401)),
American Shorthair (0700- 07..)

TICA: Sable Burmese can participate in the program of working with Bombays. The program is the same as in CFA.
The main differences are in registration:
* All black kittens are registered as black Bombays. These Bombays can participate in exhibitions and get champion status.
* Sable kittens are registered as Sable Burmese. They can participate in exhibitions and get titles, just as Burmese. They can also participate in the further pedigree program of Bombays and Burmeses.
* Not Sable kittens are not registered.
To register a cat as Bombay, a breeder should present a pedigree, in which the following breeds can be: Bombay, Sable Burmese (direct ancestors – parents).
The same order of Bombay registration is in one more felinological organization of America – ACFA.
WCF: also has one Burmese and Bombay standards. The programs of working with breeds and animal registration are the same as in TICA.
FIFe: accepts only the breed of Burmese. The breed of Bombay isn’t registered.
GCCF: accepts the breed of Burmese. Bombay is accepted in the network of the Asian program.
